The owners of more or less 300 animals in home in Oldsmar, Florida was arrested and charged with animal cruelty after the officials found that the animals was neglected, breed and sold without proper licensing. The incident occurs when the couple called the police to report that 16-month baby girl which was left to their care was nowhere to be found.
According to Pinellas County Sheriff’s officials that they responded to the Oldsmar home last Sunday after receiving a call from Jeffrey O’Neil and Jennifer Kovacs about the 16-month-old girl’s disappearance. Instead of searching for the kid, they found hundred of snakes, lizards, rats, birds and rabbits being kept in unwanted conditions. There are also “seven Burmese pythons, seven monitor lizards, over 100 bearded lizards, two deceased scorpion spiders, squirrels, hamsters, guinea pigs and gerbils” said by police officers.
The baby is in good condition and she had been taken by a relative, who left a note because the couple was not awakened due to heavily intoxicated and still intoxicated when they called the cops. The two are now being held without bail until their court hearing and no one knows if they have an attorney. Being charged with child endangerment and abuse, and animal cruelty, they should find a one of a kind attorney to defend them.
