Mohammad Azhar, Police officer, said that eight gunmen were involved in the ambush. From that remote area, armed men reported hiding on both of sides of the road and suddenly stopped the bus, forced the passengers to get off and opened fire.

Authorities said that it appears as a Sectarian attack because majority of victims were Shia Muslims. Until now, authorities were still investigating the motive of attack because suspected militants are not active in the region.
