NBA’s Linsanity out for now, FIBA’s Akkari-nsanity is in when Mohammad El Akkari joined the exclusive 100-point-game club as he scored 113 in a Lebanese league game Tuesday. The undistinguished 27-year-old guard for Moutahed made 113 points on 40-of-69 shooting in a 173-141 wins over Bejjeh in a Lebanese Division A League game.

Akkari, who is averaging  just 7.6 points per game in the 23 games he previously played for Tripoli basketball club Mouttahed this season. Akkari made a mind-boggling 32 of 59 3-point attempts and made just a single free throw. It would FAR outstrip every single-game mark in the history of FIBA competition.

Akkari joins 100-point-game club, in 1962 NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points for the Philadelphia Warriors against the Knicks.

According to fibaasia.net, 100 points have been scored in a game in Asia twice: Lou Salvador had 116 for the Philippines against China in the 1923 Far Eastern Games, and Jeron Teng scored 104 points in a high school game in the Philippines.
