Lady Gaga: ‘The Born This Way’ Ball Asia and UK Tour Dates 2012

Lady Gaga’s South Korea concert was rated unsuitable for people 18 and under by a governing body that feels the content is inappropriate for minors. Therefore, all people that aren’t of age have been banned from attending. The show initially had an age rating of 12, handed down by the Korea Media Rating Board, which is a state watchdog group. It was subsequently adjusted due to the sexual content, the twisting of religious iconography and Gaga’s advocacy of homosexuality in the show.

Gaga will bring her Born This Way Ball Tour to the region on April 27 at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul.

“Our company will respect the board’s decision and refund all ticketholders younger than 18,” an official from promoter Hyundai Card said. “It’s a disappointment. I don’t think Korea is any less open about foreign arts and culture than other Asian countries. So this decision is rather a surprise. And we are sorry to announce the news to the teens who have already purchased their tickets.”

Christian groups have opposed the show, as well. “Our Christian community needs concerted action to stop young people from being infected with homosexuality and pornography,” the Korean Association of Church Communication said in a statement.
