According to the Guiness Book of Records, “Lolong” the saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) which was caught in Agusan Del Sur, in the Province of Mindanao is the most largest crocodile captive by the local residents.

The crocodile weighs 1,075 kg or 2,370 lbs and measures 6.17 meter or 20.24 ft unlike the previous holder of being the largest crocodile which is an 18-foot Australian croc caught in 2008.

Lolong was capture last year, the capture was due to being the suspect of the death of a young girl in Agusan del Sur and the disappearance of fisherman close to the Bunawan Village where the crocodile was found and trapped. It is now declared to be the largest crocodile caught in 2009.
