Russian billionaire, Dmitry Rybolovleva has closed on $88 million New York City penthouse apartment for her 22-year-old daughter, Ekaterina. Miss Rybolovleva, a student at an undisclosed university in New York, can’t even imagine having a foot on the property ladder. The multi-million Manhattan penthouse is a ten-room palace with wrap around terraces and formerly owned by Sanford I, former head of Citigroup Inc.
The sale for the property was formally closed last Wednesday, February 15, 2012, brokers said. It was an absolutely record breaking for real estate sale. The previous record in Manhattan stands at $53 million paid by J. Christopher Flowers for the Harkness Mansion in 2006.
Miss Rybolovleva is following in the footsteps of Petra Ecclestone, daughter of British Formula One exec Bernie Ecclestone who earlier this year bought the spelling mansion, which was listed at a selling price of $150million – America’s most expensive home.
