The new 9.7-inch iPad’s screen will feature a “retina display” of 2047 by 1536 pixels, compared with the current model’s 1024 by 768 pixels. It sum up with a total of 3.1 million pixels on the display screen.
“Your retina in your eye cannot discern those individual pixels”, “The images on it look stunning”, says Apple Senior Vice President Phil Schiller.
The tablet also comes with an improved rear camera that will be able to record full HD (1080P) videos. Called iSight, the camera will shoot pictures in 5 mega pixels.

According to Apple, it features advanced optics and backside illumination, which will help user take better pictures in low light.
