Lilly, an 8-year-old pit bull had her leg cut off after she was hit by a train while saving her owner. Lilly then sat with her owner until help arrived.

Christine Spain was walking home from a friend’s house on May 3 when she collapsed on the tracks, according to reports.
The hero dog suffered a broken pelvis and a right front leg injury that was so severe, doctors needed to amputate Lilly‘s leg.
Lilly the hero dog transformed her mother’s life, providing her with love and care, according to Spain’s son, Boston Police Officer David Lanteigne
“My mother was okay. But Lilly, she didn’t fare as well,” David Lanteigne said. “She saved my mom’s life.”
