Clearly, the odds are in favor of ‘The Hunger Games’ as it earned an astounding $19.7 million from midnight screenings across the US.  It has the highest midnight screening earnings ever from a non-sequel and the 7th highest midnight screening earnings behind 3 Harry Potters and 3 Twilights.

Director Gary Ross has revealed he is set to make the sequel ‘Catching Fire’. Jennifer Lawrence (heroine Katniss Everdeen) and Liam Hemsworth (Gale Hawthorne) are both looking forward to returning to the set. “I’m excited to get back in training, I’m excited to get everybody back together, that was such a fun movie to shoot,” Lawrence told Collider.

‘The Hunger Games’ is based from the best-selling three-part novel of Suzanne Collins. Catching Fire and Mockingjay completes the trilogy.
