A GIANT pumpkin weighing 2,009 pounds took pride of place during the 2012 New England Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off.

The giant pumpkin was on display at Topsfield Fair, in Northeastern Massachusetts last Sunday (September 30).
It is believed to be the second time in five days that biggest pumpkin was displayed and the record for its title was broke.
The world’s heaviest pumpkin was brought by Ron Wallace of Greene, Rhode Island who received $5,500 and additional of $10,000 for his winning pumpkin.
Wallace’ pumpkin broke the record of about 1,800 pounds by Chris Stevens last October 2010.
