A son of a carpenter from Lipa City Batangas has made it to the top of this year’s graduates of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA).
Cadet First Class Tom Puertollano, 21, ranked first among the 187 members of the PMA “Bagwis” Class of 2012 and will receive the Presidential Saber from President Aquino on March 18.
“This class is a class with a strong sense of “bayanihan;” warriors but approachable and down-to-earth, with the ability to talk and deal with anybody – even the members of the community and the leftist groups,” said Major General Nonato Peralta, PMA Superintendent.
The other graduates in the top 10 are: Cadets First Class Jose Mari Cabrera of Cebu City, second, and the top graduate joining the Philippine Air Force; Lucien Jay Caiman of Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, third; Cadet First Class Angeline Esmeria of Taguig City, who placed fourth is the only woman in the top 10; Jethro Olavidez of Zamboanga Sibugay, fifth; Aron Lessler Regimen of Tanauan, Batangas, sixth; Dyan Karl Cabigas of Caloocan City, seventh; Fel Saguin of Zamboanga del Sur, eighth; Rone Jo Manganaan of Rosales, Pangasinan, ninth; and Christopher Juan of Tagum City, tenth.
